Proof that Daily Exercise will Benefit you MORE than you will Ever Know!

About 3 years ago, I would have called myself a runner. I had lost 70lbs with running and Beachbody’s Insanity. I would run 3 miles every morning before work in 30 minutes then do Insanity after work. When I got pregnant, I was advised by my doctor to slow it down. I eventually stopped completely and I still regret ever doing that! That was the beginning of me falling off track. I quit working out and completely just allowed myself to indulge in every craving during my pregnancy. I actually missed running. When I tried to get back into it about 9 months after my daughter was born, I just couldn’t keep up with it. It wasn’t fun anymore because it was just so hard! I was starting over. It was at that point that I began doing other at home fitness programs. I started with 21 Day Fix and had some pretty descent results. I would sit here and say that I tried this and I tried that and I did…but I wasn’t really putting in the effort. It would only take a few days before I’d “cheat” and get discouraged. I can honestly say, it’s a mental game. Getting healthy isn’t just about eating right and exercising, it’s about mental preparation for what you are about to do. It’s about putting your MIND to it and not allowing yourself to give excuses. Don’t get me wrong, I had my fair share of setbacks and failures. It’s NOT like I changed my habits overnight, it took TIME and consistency. You may not want to sit down and plan a menu every week or prep your meals every Sunday. But if you want those results, that’s what you NEED to do. I had to constantly remind myself WHY I was doing this. I wanted to be happier and I am. I wanted to be healthier and I am. I wanted to teach my daughter how to properly fuel her body with healthy food and exercise and that’s exactly what I’m doing. I couldn’t be more grateful to myself for finally taking charge and creating these healthy habits and especially grateful to my husband for supporting this decision. I remember asking him, “If I do this, it’s not going to be just me. You are going to eat like this too and we’re in this together. Will you do it?” He said “YES!” If he hadn’t, I wouldn’t be here! So this post went in a completely different direction than I had originally planned. The point of all of this was to tell you that even if you’re not seeing results right now, don’t quit. Continue to work through because you are doing so much good for yourself whether you notice it or not. After not getting on the treadmill for about 4 months, I decided to hop on during my lunch break today. I was surprised by how “easy” it felt. Is this the fastest mile I’ve ever ran? Absolutely not! But it is faster and easier than the last time I tried. I may not be where I was 3 years ago but I am well on my way and I couldn’t be happier.

Oh, and those Daily Reminders; I have those all over the house. I still struggle and these are one of my many motivators.
